Wolfenstein does something, for me, that no other game in the ‘first person shooter’ genre has ever done, and that is to be so much more than just a point and shoot game, but a point ant shoot game with a real, emotional story. Rarely do I find a game that seriously makes me feel something for not just the protagonist, but something for every character in the game, be it love, hate, sorrow. I have fallen in love with these games, and I personally don’t know how I missed them when then were released. Let me get this off my shoulders right now. Though I try to avoid the majority of spoilers, there are bound to be a few inside, so be forewarned.īethesda Software (2015) Shooter PC, Xbox One, PS4 This will be the first of a trio of reviews of the Wolfenstein games. For a mere 15$ I purchased both The Old Blood and The New Order, and I have to say, it was worth every penny. Well as luck would have it I was perusing my Steam account one day, which may have been this last years Black Friday, when I saw that the two other, newer, Wolfenstein games were on sale in a bundle deal! So happy with RtCW was I that I scooped the two of them up with reckless abandon. I had grabbed a copy while it was on sale at GOG.com, and my interest in playing it actually stemmed from the recent release of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Though a great game I was never a huge fan of the original, but RtCW made me even more of a fan than I had been previously.

Recently I did a short and rather rushed mini-review of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, a game I had never played previously, but was interested in because of my history with the original Wolfenstein.
